Our Project

The Seven Percent is a series of portraits attempting to show a face of India that we never see, the one that is embodied by those who are benefiting from the country’s rapidly growing economy. This group can be subdivided in to two categories; those who have found success over many generations and those who have made it in the present. We depicted representatives of these two groups using three separate forms of portraiture – two very different photographic portraits and a written portrait. These portraits will later evolve into a gallery showing in New York City and a photo-book.
